A newer battery that was fully charged, in daylight, with the radio off, lasts meaningfully longer than an aging battery at night with the headlights, wipers, heated seats and blower running.

What to switch off, in order

What to do if the car stops before you get there
If the engine dies, you lose power steering assist and power braking assist, and the car will feel very different immediately. Steering and braking still work mechanically on most vehicles, but both take substantially more effort than you are used to.
Get out of traffic, use your momentum to coast toward the shoulder rather than braking hard early, put the hazard lights on, and call for assistance. Do not attempt to restart repeatedly if it does not catch on the first try. Each attempt drains what little charge remains.
